Seung-Uk Huh is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy Studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2025), an M.Sc. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics (2014), and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (2012). His work focuses on international financial flows and their impact on developing nations.

His research explores the tension between global capitalism and domestic politics, particularly how foreign investment disputes and military coups affect foreign direct investment (FDI) and international development. He investigates the conditions under which investment disputes are resolved through settlement, emphasizing government partisanship and policy actions.
Seung-Uk contributed the chapter “Development Policy” to The Oxford Handbook of International Political Economy (2021, Oxford University Press). His work addresses foreign investment protection, foreign aid policy, and the economic consequences of political instability in developing economies.
