Dr. Seth O'Neill is an Associate Professor and Research Director at the School of Healthcare, University of Leicester, where he also serves as Deputy Head of School. With a background in physiotherapy, his work focuses on tendon pathology, particularly Achilles tendinopathy and ruptures. He leads research into epidemiology, risk factors, and management strategies for musculoskeletal conditions. Active in international conferences, he supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research and supports clinical colleagues in developing research careers.
His research spans NHS care analysis and sporting populations, emphasizing evidence-based interventions. He has developed assessment tools like the Calf Raise Application and contributed to consensus outcomes for Achilles tendinopathy via the ICON symposia. Over 17 years at Leicester, he has published extensively on tendon biology, tendon rupture management, and clinical measurement techniques.
