Seth Neller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and a researcher at the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Tennessee. His work focuses on health economics, public economics, and long-run effects of childhood circumstances, particularly examining how early-life experiences shape adult outcomes such as health, economic achievement, and incarceration rates. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin (2022 and 2018) and a B.B.A. in Accounting and Economics from Harding University (2008).
Neller’s research highlights include studying the impact of childhood Medicaid eligibility on adult incarceration, analyzing geographic variations in prescription drug spending linked to physician migration, and exploring how opioid prevalence influences surgical decisions. His recent work on wildfire exposure’s lifelong consequences underscores the intersection of environmental policy and human capital outcomes.
