Seth Jon Davis

Seth Jon Davis is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of York. His research focuses on plant biology, particularly climate resilience in cereal crops like wheat and barley. He leads major funded projects including the Royal Society-supported 'Genetic breeding of seasonal climate resilience' and BBSRC grants on climate-resilient agriculture.

He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Circadian Rhythms and contributed to launching Critical Insights in Plant Science. His work spans plant genomics, circadian rhythms, and agricultural biotechnology, with datasets like the AraLeTA expression atlas and circadian rhythm fitness studies.

Recent activities include seminars on extremophile algae (Galdieria) and international collaborations with Germany and Vietnam on climate-resilient crops. He has supervised numerous PhD and Master’s students through interdisciplinary projects.
