Seth C. Murray is Professor and Eugene Butler Endowed Chair at Texas A&M University's College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences. He holds a B.S. from Michigan State University (2001) and Ph.D. from Cornell University (2008). His research focuses on improving agricultural productivity through phenomics, quantitative genetics, and maize breeding.
Research integrates drone-based phenotyping with genomic data to enhance crop yield and stress resistance. Recent publications demonstrate innovations in temporal plant analysis and predictive modeling. Awards include AAAS Fellow (2024) and CSSA Presidency (2023). Teaches courses on American agriculture and quantitative genetics, having supervised 35 graduate students.
