Sernaz Arslan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Migration Research Center (MiReKoc) at Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. Her research focuses on migration, urban citizenship, feminist geography, and interdisciplinary methodologies in urban studies.
- Education: PhD in Political Science (Istanbul Bilgi University, 2023), BA in International Relations (Koç University), MA in European Studies and Integration (University of Amsterdam)
Research Interests: Dr. Arslan’s work examines rural-to-urban migrant families’ experiences in Istanbul through a three-generational lens. She integrates feminist geography and urban studies to explore themes like the ‘right to the city’ and processes of belonging.
Projects: She was a member of the COST Action project “Writing Urban Places: New Narratives of the Mid-Size European City” (2019-2023), contributing to interdisciplinary urban research.
Affiliation: Currently affiliated with MiReKoc, a leading research center at Koç University dedicated to migration studies and policy analysis.
