Professor Serim İlday leads the Simply Complex Lab at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Ruhr University Bochum (RUB). She previously held a professorship at Bilkent University since 2017 and completed her PhD at Middle East Technical University in 2014. Her research focuses on non-equilibrium physics, colloidal crystals, and complex systems, exemplified by her ERC-funded project on driven dissipative colloidal crystals mimicking living organisms.
