معرفی
Dr. Sergio LE is a Research Professor at York University's School of Kinesiology and Health Science, where he leads the Motor Control Lab. The lab is affiliated with the Centre for Vision Research, the CFREF/VISTA and Connected Minds programs, and the York University Centre for Aging Research (YU-CARE). His research focuses on the neural mechanisms of motor control, cognitive-motor integration, and the impact of neurological conditions like concussion and Alzheimer's disease.
Research interests span motor control, cognitive neuroscience, concussion recovery, aging, visuomotor integration, and sex-based differences in neurological function. Studies leverage advanced neuroimaging (fMRI, DTI), behavioral analysis, and collaborations with institutions like the Rotman Research Institute.
Recent publications (2019-2023) emphasize sex differences in brain networks, concussion outcomes in working adults, visuomotor rehabilitation, and dementia risk factors. A consistent trend involves using multimodal approaches (EEG, MRI, hormonal analysis) to explore cognitive-motor integration across diverse populations.
Awards & Recognition:
- CFREF/VISTA York Tier 1 Research Chair
Research Leadership: Dr. LE mentors graduate students and collaborators across 8+ CIHR/NSERC-funded projects. Key collaborations include Dr. Jen Ryan (Baycrest) and Dr. Mary Bunch. The lab develops VR-robotic interfaces for neurorehabilitation and partners with industry (e.g., IT Universe Ltd.).
