Sergio F Santamaria

Sergio F Santamaria serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, and Associate Director of the Garrison Financial Institute. Previously a portfolio manager at Garrison Financial Advisors (co-managing a hedge fund for ultra high-net-worth clients) and sales professional at Spanish institutions Banesto and Avalmadrid, he holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations. His leadership includes presidency of the CFA Society of Arkansas (2016-2018) and chairing the Journal of Technical Analysis editorial committee since 2019.

His research centers on technical analysis, investments, and portfolio management, with teaching extending to fundamental financial analysis and corporate finance. This expertise bridges academic theory with practical investment strategies through his dual roles in the Finance Department and Garrison Financial Institute.
