Sergio E. Uribe is a Visiting Professor at the University Hospital LMU Munich and Cardiff University, and holds roles as Lead Researcher and Scientific Project Manager at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). He previously served as Associate Professor at Universidad Austral de Chile (2005–2023). His research focuses on dental caries, epidemiology, biostatistics, and AI applications in oral health. He has led projects like 'IEVA: Evidence-Based Paediatric Caries Management' and 'Caries-AI: Diagnostic Accuracy of AI Systems.'
Education: PhD in Clinical Medicine from Universidad Austral de Chile (2016), with postdoctoral expertise from the Latvian Council of Science (2020–2026). His work aligns with UN SDGs in education and health.
Research interests include AI-driven diagnostic tools, data transparency (FAIR principles), and translational dental research. He has been awarded the International Association for Dental Research - Research in Prevention Prize (2007).
