Sergio Delgado serves as Lecturer in Contemporary Hispanic American Literature and Culture at the University of Paris-Est Créteil Val de Marne (UPEC), where he is affiliated with the Department of Romance Languages. His academic profile demonstrates deep expertise in Argentine literature and the cultural dynamics of the Río de la Plata region encompassing Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Paraguay.
Delgado's research focuses on contemporary Argentine literary figures including José Pedroni, Mateo Booz, Amaro Villanueva, Juan José Manauta, Juan Manuel Inchauspe, Juan José Saer, and Juan L. Ortiz. His methodological approach integrates landscape theory, genetic criticism, and manuscript archival research. Currently, he is investigating popular myths and legends from the Rio de la Plata region while preparing a cultural history of the Parana River. As both scholar and creative writer, Delgado explores the intersection between landscape formation and literary creation, exemplified in his essay Parques, which examines parks in Santa Fe, Lorient, and Paris.
His publication record reveals a consistent scholarly trajectory focused on critical editions and literary analysis of Hispanic American works. Delgado has produced authoritative editions of complete works by major literary figures and maintains active research in Argentine poetry, narrative techniques, and cultural contexts of literary production across the Río de la Plata region.
Academically, Delgado has held significant leadership roles including Director of the Department of Romance Languages (2016-2019), Head of MEEF Spanish Master program (2014-2020), and Coordinator of University Press at Universidad Nacional del Litoral (1994-1999). He directs the "El país del sauce" collection and serves on the Editorial Board of Cahiers LIRICO, the journal of the interuniversity network for contemporary literature studies from the Río de la Plata region in France.
