Sergio Cavalieri is currently Rector of the University of Bergamo and a Full Professor of Operations Management within the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering. His academic career focuses on innovation in management processes across industrial and service companies, with emphasis on digital transformation and sustainable business models.
His research interests span Operations Management, Industrial Systems, and Servitization, with particular expertise in Product-Service Systems, Maintenance Management, and Digital Manufacturing. Cavalieri has pioneered work in Industrial Agile Working, 5G applications in manufacturing, and sustainability-oriented business models, especially within the steel sector.
