Sergey Peredkov

Dr. Sergey Peredkov is a Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research (MPI CEC) in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry since 2017. His research focuses on developing advanced X-ray spectroscopy instrumentation, particularly in X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) for studying catalytic systems and transition metal electronic structures. He has led the PINK project to establish a high-resolution XES setup at BESSY II synchrotron, enabling studies of dilute systems and time-resolved experiments. His work integrates synchrotron radiation techniques with cutting-edge detector systems and software development. Dr. Peredkov holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Lund University (2007) and has held roles including postdoc at BESSY II and support scientist at MAX-lab. He has received awards such as the Kurchatov grant (1997) and Kurchatov prize (2002) for young scientists.
