Sergey Dyachenko

Sergey Dyachenko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University at Buffalo, New York. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of New Mexico (2014) and a BS in Applied Physics and Mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (2007).

His research focuses on nonlinear wave phenomena and fluid dynamics, particularly singularity formation in free-surface flows like water wave breaking and whitecapping. He employs computational mathematics and applied analysis to study:

• Integrable systems (NLS, KdV)
