University of Colorado Colorado Springsمعرفی
Denis Silantyev is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), affiliated with the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on nonlinear wave dynamics, plasma physics, and numerical methods for partial differential equations. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of New Mexico (2017), an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the same institution (2011), and earlier degrees from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Research Interests: Silantyev studies instabilities and collapses in optics, plasma, and hydrodynamics; laser-plasma interactions; plasma kinetics; and numerical techniques such as spectral methods and high-performance computing (HPC). His work bridges theoretical analysis and computational modeling, addressing challenges in nonlinear wave phenomena and rarefied gas dynamics.
Publications: His recent work explores topics like Langmuir wave stability, singularity formation in PDEs, and adjoint methods for Boltzmann equations. These studies reflect his expertise in both plasma physics and advanced numerical simulations.
