Serge GARLATTI is a Full Professor at IMT Atlantique's Département Informatique, specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL). He leads the Computer Science Department and co-heads the 'Technology-Enhanced Learning & Cultural Heritage' research group within the Lab-STICC laboratory. His work bridges AI with educational technology, focusing on lifelong learning, cultural heritage preservation, and adaptive learning systems. He holds a HDR (2006) and PhD (1990) in Computer Science from the University of Bretagne Sud and Rennes 2, respectively.
Research Interests: His interdisciplinary research spans AI applications in education, semantic web technologies, learning analytics, robotics, and cultural heritage. Key areas include ontology design for historical inquiry, adaptive learning environments, and MOOC personalization.
Projects: He leads initiatives like SEDELA (enhancing lifelong learning autonomy through self-data) and HUBBLE (analyzing e-learning traces). Notable collaborations include ANR networks (ORPHEE) and EU projects (MOOCTAB for tablet-based MOOC platforms).
Roles: Board member of ATIEF (2015-2018), reviewer for ANR projects, and jury member for academic recruitments and theses. He teaches ontology design, semantic web, and logical frameworks.
