Dr. Serena Salvi is a Researcher at Lancaster University's Faculty of Health and Medicine, working in the Department of Health Research. She is currently part of the Horizon-funded project In-Touch (2024-2028), aimed at improving quality of life for people with later-stage dementia through non-pharmacological palliative care approaches.
Her research focuses on palliative care in advanced dementia, examining how ageism and age-based stereotyping impact health-seeking behaviors in older adults. She investigates non-pharmacological interventions to enhance end-of-life care for dementia patients.
Recent publications analyze attitudes toward aging affecting sleep patterns in older adults and systematic implementation of Namaste Care in nursing homes. Her work consistently addresses gerontology, psychological aspects of aging, and innovative care models.
She collaborates with international consortiums including COMPASS Ghana and participates in initiatives like the 'Culturally Adapting the In-Touch Guide' project across multiple countries.
