Dr Serena Love is an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Social Science (Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences) at The University of Queensland. Her academic career includes positions as Senior Research Fellow at Koç University (2015-2016), Visiting Professor at Sopot University of Applied Sciences (2015), and Lecturer roles at Stanford University, Brown University, and De Anza College. She holds a PhD from Stanford University (2011), MPhil from University College London (2005), and MSc from the University of Sheffield (1999).

Her research focuses on material culture analysis, particularly mudbrick architecture in Neolithic societies, geoarchaeological methods, and sensory experiences of ancient built environments. Key areas include Çatalhöyük, Tel Tsaf, and Giza's Lost City of the Pyramids. Her work bridges archaeology with interdisciplinary approaches, emphasizing technological choices and environmental interactions.
Publications span 20 years, addressing architectural materiality, geoarchaeological techniques, and prehistoric social organization. She has collaborated on major field projects in Turkey, Israel, and Egypt.
