Serena Faggiano

Serena Faggiano is an Associate Professor at the Department of Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Parma, Italy. Her career includes a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2009), postdoctoral research at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research (2010-2014), and a Research Fellow role (2014-2018). She obtained the Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale for Full Professor in 2023.

She employs spectroscopic methods and Cryo-EM to investigate molecular mechanisms.

Recent Publications (2023-2025) focus on Staphylococcus aureus pathogenesis, novel PDMS-based antimicrobial materials, and enzyme inhibition strategies for neurological diseases. These studies highlight her expertise in protein interactions, drug discovery, and structural characterization.
