Sequoia Maner is an Assistant Professor of English at Spelman College. Since joining the faculty in 2020, she specializes in African American literature, poetry, black feminisms, and hip-hop culture. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches and conversation-based learning, aiming to cultivate informed citizens through the lens of African American writers and performers.
