معرفی
Septimiu Crivei is a Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. His work spans algebra, category theory, and their applications, with a focus on modules, torsion theories, and finitely accessible categories.
Research Interests
Crivei's research primarily focuses on module theory, torsion theories, finitely accessible categories, and exact categories. His work explores structural properties of algebraic objects and their categorical representations, with applications in cryptography and computational algebra.
Publication Trends
Crivei's recent publications (2021-2025) demonstrate a continued focus on abelian categories, Rickart objects, and matrix theory. His work shows increasing attention to CS-Baer objects, von Neumann regular matrices, and the transfer of properties via functors in category theory.
Scientific Contributions
- Developed the ELISA GAP package for extending and lifting abelian groups
- Authored the book "Injective modules relative to torsion theories" (2004)
- Organized the "Modules and Representation Theory" conference in Cluj-Napoca (2008)
Advising and Grants
Crivei has supervised several PhD students including Guillermo Zecua Ramirez (current), Simona-Maria Radu, and Iulia-Elena Chiru. He has led significant research projects including:
- Grant CEEX ET-47 (2006-2008): "Generalizations of injectivity and approximations in abelian categories"
- Grant PN2-IDEI-2271 (2009-2011): "Locally finitely presented categories, submodule categories and applications"
Research Community
Crivei is a key member of the Algebra Group at Cluj and has presented his research at numerous international conferences across Europe. His collaborative work has strengthened the international visibility of the Algebra Group at Babes-Bolyai University.
