معرفی
Seongjin Park is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Syracuse University. His research focuses on developing microscopy techniques and applying them to study biomolecular interactions in live microbes and real-time neuronal activity in Drosophila larva brains. He specializes in single-molecule localization microscopy (SMLM), single-particle tracking (SPT), two-photon microscopy, and microfluidics.
- Education: Ph.D. in Physics (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2015), B.S. in Physics and Mathematics (Seoul National University, 2006)
Research interests include:
- Imaging live bacterial cells to study RNA dynamics and small regulatory RNAs
- Tracking molecules in live microbes and probing neuronal circuits in Drosophila
- Development of advanced microscopy techniques for super-resolution imaging
His recent publications highlight advancements in mechanical expansion microscopy and the role of ubiquitin signaling in cellular stress responses. He has presented at conferences such as the American Physical Society New York Section Meeting and the BioInspired Symposium.
Awards:
- Value Award & Spot Bonus (Illumina, Inc., 2022)
Teaching and service activities include organizing seminars and manuscript reviews for journals like Journal of Microbiological Methods.
Collaborations involve work with Mirna Mihovilovic Skanata on brain activity tracking and Illumina on sequencing technologies.
