Professor Seo is a faculty member at the University of Maryland's College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, specializing in cosmic ray astrophysics and particle physics. His research focuses on analyzing cosmic ray spectra, elemental composition, and propagation mechanisms using space-based instruments like the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) and ISS-CREAM. He has contributed to understanding cosmic ray origins, antimatter detection, and high-energy phenomena in astrophysical environments.

Key projects include the ISS-CREAM experiment, which measures cosmic rays on the International Space Station, and the AMS collaboration analyzing proton, helium, and antiproton fluxes.
