Selma ERDAĞI is an Associate Professor at Kafkas University's Dede Korkut Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education. She has been serving as a full-time faculty member since 2005, teaching various undergraduate and graduate courses in Turkish language education, reading and writing instruction, and creative thinking. Her academic career spans multiple institutions including Necmettin Erbakan University and Kafkas University.
Dr. ERDAĞI earned her PhD in Turkish Language Education from Necmettin Erbakan University (2010-2015), a Master's degree in Turkish Folk Literature from Kafkas University (2006-2008), and her BA in Turkish Language and Literature from Erciyes University (1998-2002). She has completed additional training in qualitative research methods and various educational workshops throughout her career.
Her research focuses primarily on Turkish language education with particular emphasis on reading instruction, writing education, and creative thinking methodologies. She has conducted extensive research on reading strategies, metacognitive awareness in middle school students, and the application of drama methods in language teaching. Her work also extends to children's literature, specifically examining nursery rhymes and riddles in cultural transmission.
