Selene Scarsi is a Senior Lecturer in English at Kingston University's Department of Humanities within the Kingston School of Art. She specializes in Anglo-Italian relations during the Renaissance period.
Her research examines Elizabethan translations of Italian Renaissance epic poetry and Renaissance women's writing. Current projects include a comparative analysis of English and Italian female sonneteers from this period.
Dr. Scarsi supervises PhD candidates working on the reception of Ludovico Ariosto's 'Orlando Furioso' and food representation in Medieval and Renaissance literature. She welcomes doctoral applicants interested in Early Modern Anglo-Italian literary connections.
