Selcan Aydin, Ph.D., is an Associate Computational Scientist at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. Her research focuses on quantitative genetics, cellular signaling, and systems biology, particularly in understanding how genetic variation influences gene regulation and cell fate decisions during mouse development. She employs advanced statistical methods to analyze multi-scale genomics data, integrating computational and experimental approaches.
A postdoctoral associate in the Munger Lab, Aydin previously utilized genetically diverse embryonic stem cells to explore genetic influences on pluripotency. Her interdisciplinary expertise spans molecular biology, systems biology, complex trait genetics, and proteomics. Beyond research, she contributes to service and mentorship, including her recent role on the Genetics Society of America’s Early Career Scientist Accessibility Subcommittee advocating for scientists with disabilities.
