Seham Alharbi is a Research Student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York, affiliated with the Automated Software Engineering research group. Her academic background includes an MSc in Software Systems and Internet Technology from the University of Sheffield (UK) and a BSc in Information Technology from Qassim University (Saudi Arabia). Prior to her research, she held a Lecturer position at Qassim University (2020-2021) and served as a Teaching Assistant there from 2013 to 2017.
Her research interests focus on improving software documentation and maintenance through advancements in API code example design and program comprehension. This includes investigating how source code linearity impacts developer understanding of API examples, developing automated tools for generating maintainable API documentation, and exploring XML database architectures for engineering education systems.
Alharbi's work bridges software engineering practices with human-centric design principles, aiming to enhance developer productivity and software sustainability. She collaborates within the Automated Software Engineering group at York, contributing to projects that address real-world challenges in software development and education infrastructure.
