Sebastià Verger Gelabert

Dr. Sebastià Verger Gelabert is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Pedagogy and Educational Psychology at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), affiliated with the Faculty of Education. He serves as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education since 2020 and leads the GREID research group (Inclusive and Diversity School), while contributing to the GITED Group (Childhood, Technology, Education, and Diversity). He co-directs the Master's program in Early Childhood and the Postgraduate Diploma in Early Intervention.

His research focuses on Hospital Pedagogy, inclusive education, and the quality of life of children with chronic/rare diseases. Notable projects include interventions for students with chronic illnesses and transdisciplinary approaches to minority disease education. His work addresses healthcare-education collaboration, family-centered early intervention, and pandemic impacts on hospital classrooms.

Teaching roles span undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including courses on Inclusive Education, Hospital Pedagogy, and Educational Support. He advises PhD students in Education and oversees master's theses in psychoeducational research. His recent publications emphasize family mental health, volunteer engagement in healthcare, and linguistic mediation for immigrant youth.
