Sebastien Guenneau

Dr. Sebastien Guenneau is an Associate Professor in Physics at Imperial College London’s Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences. He serves as a Senior Tutor for undergraduate students at the Blackett Laboratory, emphasizing Student Wellbeing, Mental-Health, and Research-Informed Teaching.

Research Interests: Spanning Optical Physics, Quantum Physics, and Nanotechnology, his work integrates interdisciplinary themes in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Communications Technologies. He has actively promoted Widening Participation through outreach initiatives.

Academic Experience: Over 20 years, he has held roles as a teaching assistant in Marseille, residential adviser in Liverpool, personal tutor at Liverpool University, and lecturer in Applied Mathematics. His research affiliations include CNRS (Institut Fresnel, Marseille), Imperial College London, and the CNRS-Imperial Abraham de Moivre International Research Laboratory.

Grants & Outreach: As co-investigator for EPSRC-funded projects like 'Funmaths Roadshow and Liverpool Maths Club: Further Expansion and Developments' and 'FunMaths Roadshow: UK wide roll-out,' he has driven nationwide mathematics engagement. His focus remains on inclusive education and fostering critical thinking.
