Sebastien Farnaud is Professor of Enterprise and Innovation in Healthcare Technology at Coventry University's Centre for Health and Life Sciences. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from King's College London.
His research focuses on biotechnological applications including bioleaching for metal recovery from electronic waste, iron metabolism in Parkinson's disease, and antimicrobial peptide development. Current projects develop sustainable methods for precious metal extraction.
Publications demonstrate innovations in bioremediation and sustainable materials. Recent articles examine enzyme stabilization and microbial metal recovery processes.
Awards recognize his work in knowledge transfer and sustainable technology, including THE Award 2023 and National Recycling Award 2022.
He leads multiple Innovate UK projects with industry partners in electronic waste recycling.
