معرفی
Sebastian Wolf is a Lecturer and Research Scientist at the Department of Environmental Systems Science, ETH Zurich. His research focuses on the biosphere-atmosphere exchange of carbon dioxide, water vapor, and energy in terrestrial ecosystems, with emphasis on drought and climate change impacts. He holds a PhD from ETH Zurich and has held roles including SNF & Marie Curie Research Fellow at UC Berkeley and Senior Scientist at ETH Zurich. His work integrates eddy covariance measurements, remote sensing, and modeling to address global environmental challenges.
Education: PhD (2010) in Environmental Systems Science, ETH Zurich; MSc (2006) in Geography, Dresden University of Technology; BSc (2003), Dresden University of Technology. Professional affiliations include leadership in FLUXNET’s Young Scientist Network and contributions to global datasets like FLUXNET2015.
Research interests span carbon-water interactions, ecosystem flux partitioning, and upscaling to regional/global scales. Notable awards include the Marie Curie Fellowship and recognition as a Highly Cited Author. Projects include the ECOWAX initiative on water vapor flux variability and the 2012 US Drought study, published in PNAS.
Key collaborations involve NASA JPL, UC Berkeley, and Swiss FluxNet. Current roles include coordinating interdisciplinary research on climate-ecosystem feedbacks and advising on global carbon cycle dynamics.
