Sebastian Taugerbeck is a Researcher at the Chair of Business Informatics and New Media, University of Siegen, and currently serves as Network Manager at the Mittelstand-Digital Center for Rural Regions. He holds an M.A. in Education and Social Work from the University of Siegen (2018), following a B.A. in Social Sciences (2013). His research focuses on qualitative methods in empirical social research, socio-informatics perspectives on sustainable project management, and digital media in total institutions like prisons.
His career includes roles such as leading the ERDF project 'sustainKMU' (2019–2022), contributing to the 'ASUP' research project (2018–2019), and scientific support for the 'C3H' project (2021). His work bridges technology and societal challenges, emphasizing ethical design in sensitive contexts. Recent publications explore remote work resilience during crises, energy-saving digital tools in industry, and digital care narratives in healthcare settings.
Key research contributions include analyzing ICT use in prisons, designing eco-visualizations for industrial sustainability, and developing interactive systems for dementia care. His work has been recognized with awards like the DGA Publication Prize. Beyond academia, he has vocational training in screen printing (2002–2005), reflecting his interdisciplinary background.
