Sebastian Mock is a Professor and Chair holder at the Department of Corporate and Insolvency Law, Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), serving as Deputy Director with contact email sebastian.mock@wu.ac.at and phone (+43) 1 31336-5900. He holds an LL.M. from NYU and is licensed as an Attorney-at-Law in New York, maintaining consultation hours every Thursday 9:00-10:00 a.m. by registration.
His research spans Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Insolvency Law, and Accounting Law, with significant contributions to historical corporate statutes analysis and modern governance frameworks. Key projects include examining 27 major social contracts from ancient Rome to Google (including the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation), developing Germany's first Sports Governance Code adopted in June 2021, and leading Wirecard scandal-responsive research on financial statement regulation.
Mock directs a third-party funded project with University of Hohenheim on corporate financial communication frameworks, addressing regulatory gaps through multi-actor analysis (auditors, capital markets, judiciary). As founding committee member of Sports Governance eV, he established voluntary governance standards for German sports organizations. His work bridges legal scholarship with economic history, focusing on practical regulatory design for corporate transparency and governance.
