Sebastian Findeisen

Sebastian Findeisen serves as Professor of Political Economics at the University of Konstanz and holds a Research Associate position at ZEW (Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research), collaborating extensively with the Inequality and Public Policy research group.

His research centers on political economy frameworks analyzing economic inequality dynamics, public policy efficacy, and labor market institutions. He investigates causal relationships between policy interventions (taxation, welfare systems, education) and socioeconomic disparities, with emphasis on empirical methodology and institutional design. Current work examines how political incentives shape redistributive policies and their long-term impacts on social mobility.

At ZEW, Findeisen contributes to collaborative projects evaluating policy reforms through microsimulation models and large-scale administrative data analysis, focusing on evidence-based solutions for inequality mitigation within European contexts.
