Dr. Sebastian Cordoba is a Lecturer and Industry Fellow in the School of GUSS at RMIT University, where he coordinates social work courses and focuses on policy reform, education systems, and eco-social work. He also serves as a senior policy advisor and UN commissioner with the International Federation of Social Workers and Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), advocating for human rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
His research examines the intersection of large-scale policy changes and social work practice, identity, and education. Key areas include youth suicide prevention in schools, climate action, and social justice. Cordoba has over a decade of direct practice experience with children and families, specializing in trauma and crisis intervention in healthcare and educational settings.
