Sebastian Araya Luengo

Dr. Sebastian Araya Luengo is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Music at Georgia College & State University (Georgia) and Anderson University (South Carolina), specializing in classical and world percussion education. He also teaches at the Community Music School at the University of Georgia, engaging students across diverse age groups and skill levels.

Dr. Araya focuses on classical and world percussion, with expertise in applied percussion pedagogy, percussion ensemble direction, and Latin American folk music performance. His teaching emphasizes individualized lesson plans and cross-cultural drumming traditions, including collaborations with the band Chakaimanta in Cleveland, Ohio.

Performance History

He has performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Symphonic Orchestra of Chile and Philharmonic Orchestra of Chile, as well as U.S. ensembles like the Cleveland Winds Ensemble, Augusta Symphony, and Cleveland Philharmonic. International appearances include festivals in Germany, the Czech Republic, Peru, Brazil, and others.
