معرفی
Sebastian Albinsson is a Senior Lecturer and Molecular Vascular Physiology Researcher at Lund University's Faculty of Medicine. He holds roles as Research Team Manager, Course Director, and Principal Investigator within the EXODIAB: Excellence of Diabetes Research in Sweden initiative. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals focused on health and well-being.
Research Interests: Albinsson specializes in vascular physiology, smooth muscle biology, and the role of microRNAs in cardiovascular disease. His research explores hypertension mechanisms, aneurysm development, and molecular pathways regulating vascular smooth muscle function. Key focuses include YAP/TAZ signaling, actin cytoskeleton dynamics, and transcription factor-driven processes in vascular pathology.
Recent Article Trends: Recent work emphasizes genome sequencing in heart failure, YAP/TAZ regulation in vascular mechanotransduction, and microRNA-driven lipid accumulation. These studies highlight translational applications in precision medicine and disease prevention.
Grants & Projects:
- Exploring the relationship between metabolic vascular disease, smooth muscle mechanosensing and vascular ageing (2025–2026)
- Kan blodkärlens sträcksenor skydda mot aneurysm? (2024–2026)
Advising: Supervised 8 research works, focusing on vascular biology and molecular mechanisms.
Labs/Teams: Active in EXODIAB and the Molecular Vascular Physiology group, collaborating internationally on cardiovascular and diabetes research.
