Dr Sean Thomas is a Reader at the University of York's York Law School, specializing in commercial and property law. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester and has held academic positions at Durham, Leicester, and Anglia Ruskin Universities. His research focuses on ownership transfer in personal property, circular economy legal frameworks, and smart technology implications. He co-authored the fourth edition of Bradgate’s Commercial Law (OUP 2024) and advises projects like the Commercial Code initiative. He chairs the Staff-Student Forum and coordinates research seminars at York Law School.
