Sean Morrissey

Sean Morrissey serves as the Academic Development lead for learning and teaching at the University of Strathclyde’s Organisational and Staff Development Unit (OSDU). He oversees initiatives such as the Strathclyde Teaching Excellence Programme (STEP), Micro-CPD, and Advance HE Fellowships pathways. As Programme Director of the PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, he focuses on inclusive curriculum design, leadership in teaching, and compassionate pedagogies. His collaborative projects extend to China and the Middle East, emphasizing global educational development.

His research interests include staff peer-support networks, leadership in higher education, and equitable teaching practices. Morrissey has secured funding from the British Council for projects like the Education for Sustainable Development (2025–2027) and BOLD up-skilling Workshops in Jordan (2024–2026). He actively participates in international conferences, delivering keynote addresses on topics such as aligning teaching frameworks with national qualification standards.
