Sean Meehan is Professor of English and Director of Writing at Washington College, where he also co-directs the Cromwell Center for Teaching and Learning. His work focuses on rhetorical foundations of liberal education, teaching writing across disciplines, and editing the Washington College Review. His scholarship examines Ralph Waldo Emerson's intellectual legacy and its relevance to contemporary education.

Research interests center on intersections of writing technologies, environmental literature, and rhetorical traditions.
