معرفی
Sean M. Wilson, PhD, is a Professor at Loma Linda University School of Medicine with dual appointments in the Pharmacology Division (Basic Sciences) and the Department of Medicine. His research program investigates epigenetic modifications in physiological stress responses, focusing on high-altitude impacts on fetal/newborn cardiopulmonary development, calcium signaling in hypoxic vascular systems, and exercise interventions for adolescent health. He directs an active laboratory with continuous NIH funding since 2012, including current R01 grants (2020-2025) examining gestational hypoxia mechanisms.
Research Interests: Dr. Wilson's work integrates vascular physiology, epigenetics, and metabolomics to study: 1) Hypoxia-induced programming of pulmonary/uterine arterial function; 2) Calcium spark dynamics in vascular smooth muscle; 3) Exercise-based interventions for pulmonary hypertension; 4) Metabolic reprogramming in high-altitude adaptation; and 5) Novel teaching methodologies in medical education.
Publication Trends: His 133+ publications demonstrate consistent focus on hypoxia physiology, vascular remodeling, and calcium signaling mechanisms across developmental stages. Recent work (2021-2025) shows expanded emphasis on metabolomic/epigenetic regulation, perinatal programming, and translational applications in tissue engineering and adolescent health interventions.
Awards & Honors:
