Sean L. Malloy is a Professor of History and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) at the University of California, Merced, where he serves as Founding Faculty in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. His academic career focuses on the intersection of history, ethics, and political power, with particular expertise in nuclear history and U.S. social movements.
Malloy received his educational training at prestigious institutions:

- B.A. in History from University of California, Berkeley (1994)
Professor Malloy's research spans multiple critical areas of historical inquiry with particular focus on:
- Nuclear history and the ethical dimensions of warfare
- U.S. diplomatic history with emphasis on moral considerations
- Twentieth century U.S. social movements, particularly African American history
- Colonialism, white supremacy, and critical study of Zionism
