Sean Holt

Sean Holt serves as Associate Professor of Practice and Vice Dean of the Division of Contemporary Music at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, where he instructs in Popular Music and Music Technology programs through ensemble performance, songwriting, senior projects, and production techniques.

Holt earned his Master's degree in Music from USC Thornton, building on Louisiana roots influenced by blues, gospel, soul, and jazz. His professional journey began in 1991 Los Angeles where he collaborated with artists including Carlos Santana, Bruno Mars, Michael Bublé, and Sheila E.

His expertise spans commercial music creation and arts education, evidenced by Emmy, Clio, and Golden Pencil Award-winning compositions for Apple, Nike, and BMW. He champions community development through the Believe Foundation's Los Angeles School of Arts and Entertainment program.
