Dr. Sean Dowgray is a Term Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, specializing in contemporary percussion performance and interdisciplinary collaborations. He teaches Applied Percussion, Percussion Ensemble, World Beat Ensemble, Music History (MUS F221/222), and Music Fundamentals (MUS 103X). His office is located in Fine Arts 115.

- University of California San Diego (D.M.A., studied with Steven Schick)
Research & Performance: Dowgray focuses on modern percussion repertoire, emphasizing technical and expressive boundaries. Notable collaborations include works by composers Daniel Tacke, Josh Levine, Justin Murphy-Mancini, and Jürg Frey. His doctoral dissertation Time Being: Percussion as a Study of Time analyzes percussion works through temporal theory frameworks. Recent performances include John Corigliano's Conjurer with the Fairbanks Symphony and Lewis Nielson's Lengua Encubierto at PASIC.
Interdisciplinary Projects: Current initiatives include the 2025 premiere of his ensemble work WHEN and the In A Time of Change: Boreal Forest Stories collaboration blending art, science, and poetry.
