Seamus Duffy

Seamus Duffy is a Lecturer at Northland Community and Technical College. He was recently appointed as a District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District by Governor Tim Walz, replacing Judge Darlene Rivera Spalla. Duffy previously served as the county attorney in the Pennington County Attorney’s Office, an assistant public defender in the Ninth Judicial District, and an attorney at Duffy Law Office.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science from the University of North Dakota
• Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota

Duffy’s academic and professional focus lies in Law, particularly Criminal Law, Family Law, and Juvenile Law. His community involvement includes a lecturer role at Northland Community and Technical College, service on the Pennington County DWI Court, and volunteer work with the Thief River Falls Amateur Hockey Association and Archery Club.
