Scott Stewart is an Associate Professor in the School of Molecular Sciences at The University of Western Australia (UWA). He leads research in synthetic organic chemistry, focusing on nickel and palladium catalysis, natural product synthesis, and medicinal chemistry applications. Stewart has held appointments since 2005 and holds affiliations with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Kyoto University.
Education:
- PhD in Chemistry from The Australian National University (ANU)
- Alexander von-Humboldt Fellowship at Universität Göttingen, Germany (2002)
Research Interests:
- Development of nickel/palladium cross-coupling reactions
- Total synthesis of complex natural products (e.g., indole alkaloids, anthrapyranones)
