معرفی
Manas K. Ghorai is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK). He holds a PhD from the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune (1998). His research specializes in synthetic organic chemistry, with a focus on aziridine/azetidine chemistry, dianion chemistry, memory of chirality, and organocatalysis. His group pioneered the application of memory of chirality in imino-aldol reactions and developed domino ring-opening cyclization (DROC) methodologies for stereoselective synthesis of bioactive compounds.
Ghorai's work emphasizes asymmetric synthesis using organocatalysis and Lewis acid catalysis, with innovations in nucleophilic ring-opening mechanisms of strained heterocycles. His publications consistently explore domino reactions, chiral synthesis, and heterocyclic compound construction.
