Scott Schaefer serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where he has been a faculty member since 2006 after completing a postdoctoral position in horticulture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a Ph.D. and B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
His research specializes in:

- Genetic regulation in botanical systems
