Dr. Scott Preston is an Associate Professor in the Department of Culture and Media Studies at the University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Arts. His research focuses on applied game design, games-based learning, and the history of games and popular culture. He leads the Resolve research group, creating educational tools like Campus Paths and UNB History: In the Cards. Preston teaches courses in film studies, media design, and cultural studies, and has held leadership roles including Director of the Media Arts and Cultures program and Department Chair (2019–2022).

Teaching specialties include media technology, documentary practices, and advanced studies in popular culture. He previously worked in community television and has published extensively on Canadian cinema and horror film studies.
