Scott Oishi

Dr. Scott Oishi is a Professor in the Departments of Plastic Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He serves as Director of The Charles E. Seay, Jr. Center for Excellence in Hand & Upper Extremity and Program Director for the 6-month Pediatric Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. His clinical focus is pediatric hand surgery, specializing in congenital hand anomalies and complex upper extremity reconstructions.

Education: MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, residencies in General Surgery (University of Texas Health Science Center) and Plastic Surgery (University of Kentucky), and fellowship in Hand/Microvascular Surgery (UT Southwestern). His research emphasizes congenital hand differences, surgical outcomes, and innovative techniques in pediatric orthopaedics.

Research Interests include congenital limb anomalies, microsurgical reconstruction, and psychosocial impacts of congenital deformities. Over 77 published articles focus on radial longitudinal deficiency, Madelung deformity, arthrogryposis, and therapeutic interventions for congenital hand conditions.
